Jazz Jams

We typically host a trio of jazz jams through each year.  These are open to anyone who would like a safe, encouraging and energized environment to try improvising and playing in a combo setting.

Location change: The next jazz jam is on Friday, February 6 at 7-9pm, at the St. Mary's High School Band Room.

How do I prepare for a jazz jam?

1) Get to know the tunes on the lead sheets!

2) Listen to great recordings of those tunes.

3) Play along with those recordings.

4) Try playing the tunes with a "play-along" (available on YouTube) - and even try taking a solo!
