Cantos Jam
CADME is proud to be partnering with the Cantos Music Foundations for a series of Jazz Combo jam sessions.
Each concert will feature an area high school Jazz Combo who will play an opening set to highlight their jazz improvisational skills.
The rhythm section for the combo will return for the second set to accompany any and all student soloist who wish to join in. Tunes will be from a selected set and will be availible to download on this page.
Admission is free to all.

In celebration of the Tenth Anniversary of Band Director Academy (BDA), Jazz at Lincoln Center presents a four-day professional enrichment workshop focusing on “The Essentials of Teaching Jazz” - including improvisation, rhythm section and big band rehearsal techniques. Featuring an integration of performance, jazz pedagogy and demonstration of best practices, BDA emphasizes hands-on learning and techniques to be applied directly in the classroom. It is led by some of the foremost jazz educators in North America and also includes jam sessions, topic discussions and a faculty concert. Whether you’re a music education student or a veteran teacher, BDA offers tips and techniques for a deeper understanding of, and passion for, teaching jazz. We hope to see you there!
